My five minutes of fame with Mafikizolo

By every other standard one can think of, South African pop music outfit Mafikizolo is by far a world class act and just being on stage with them is an achievement and thats exactly what i did yesterday after being invited to go on them with them. I nearly took the glow out of them. The occassion was the SABC Highway Africa Awards dinner here in Grahamstown South Africa.

The day i discovered what i am worth in life

Its my second day at Highway Africa currently underway in Grahastown and i decide to elope to Fort Hare University in Alice to see the other piece of my flesh. This whole crew of Zimbabweans here led by one Stanley Gama decide to talk about my visit suggesting that i had been snubbed by the beautiful and ever smiling Faith but hey, i was simply teasing her the other day at Olde 65 but the whole malicious story was started by Gama who had for a long time admired the former This Morning presenter. But this incident just gave me an insight into the kind of person that i am. I was gald to hear that they all, all of them about 15 of them were missing me and wished i was there but all the same i had to do what was supposed to be done at the time and that was to go and see Vhenekai.

Let the good times roll in Grahamstown

Stanley Gama is evidently enjoying himself in Grahamstown far far away from Zimbabwe's madding crowd. I envy him. If there is a time that i have felt embarrased to be a Zimbabwean it is now. There we are at P N Pay Supermarket and for moment we felt out of place in the well stocked supermarket, How do you explain it when you get to a place where there are no queues when sights of endless queues have become a part of your life. Zveshuwa tatambura. On this other day, after arriving from Harare, we went straight to Olde 65 Bar were beer for the first time in this small town run out wen we were drowning our sorrows in the wise waters. We then moved to Equilibum Bar were again the manager, a Zimbabwean Farai, begged us to leave the bar coz we wanted to sleep in there. And just yesterday, i went with Gama to pick n pay supermarket and because of the high excitement that we had after visiting a well stocked supermarket and decided to eat a whole chicken tiri two, until Gift Phiri appeared from nowhere and asked to join in.
